Charleston anti-maskers protest ordinance
Sucking on lollipops and cigarettes, sipping beverages and munching snacks in Charleston on Saturday, demonstrators avoided citations for violating mask wearing ordinances. Protesting city council’s recent increased enforcement measures, a small group led by Elizabeth Udy and Corey Allen gathered at the Pineapple Fountain and eventually walked along Bay St. to The Battery and back, thanking others who were “breathing fresh air,” and not wearing masks. One parking attendant berated the small group when they passed — referencing a deceased husband.
